Topographic survey
Maps the shape of the land: contours, elevations and features.
What it is
A topographic survey measures the contours and elevations of a site and the features on it. In Texas it's a Category 6 survey, delivered as a signed, sealed and certified plat showing elevations or relief by contour lines.
When you need one
- Designing a house, building or site plan, so the architect or engineer knows the grades
- Planning drainage, grading or driveways
- Flood-control and site design work
What affects the cost
Acreage, terrain, tree cover and how much detail the designer needs drive the price.
What it costs
