Data Sources
Every listing is generated from public state licensing records. Here is exactly which files, from when, and what we filter out.

What we publish
- 1,136 registered surveying firm offices in Texas
- 1,678 of 2,478 registered RPLS, shown on the firm office the board links them to
What we leave out
- Any license or registration that isn't current (expired, retired, revoked, deceased)
- 78 government agencies registered with the board
- 170 offices located outside Texas
- Surveyor interns (SIT), who are not licensed to practice
- Street addresses without a suite or unit (we show city and ZIP instead), and every individual's address. The board stopped publishing individual addresses in 2023.
- License expiration dates, which go stale between refreshes. Check those with the board.
Locations
Cities and counties come from the U.S. Census Bureau Gazetteer files and the Census Geocoder. Map positions are rounded to about a kilometer.
